A hand-drawn arcade fighter with eleven monsters, twelve haunted arenas and three bosses waiting at the end of the ladder. Halloween Fighters uses the old directional system rather than quarter-circle motions: hold forward and punch for a heavy, back for a medium, down for a sweep, up for an uppercut, which gives you ten distinct attacks from two buttons and no combo notation to memorise. Guards break, combos chain, supers glow, and knockouts drop into slow motion. Three difficulty levels, and an arcade ladder that gets genuinely harder rather than longer.
