Classic Nonogram

Runs in the browser

A nonogram is a picture hidden in arithmetic: the numbers along each row and column say how many cells in that line are filled and in what runs, and from those clues alone the image comes out. Classic Nonogram gives you the grid, the clues and three lives, so a guess has a real cost and the game stays about reading the board rather than clicking it. Start where one line is nearly full, mark the cells that cannot be filled, and the rest unlocks in a chain.
