Five platformers built on a rule the genre rarely admits to: you are not supposed to survive the first attempt. Floors crumble on the second step, spikes come up where there was nothing, doors turn into teeth. The game expects you to die to each trap once and remember it, which turns every level into a short memory test rather than a test of reflexes — and makes the second run through a page feel like choreography. I Get You goes furthest with the idea and gives the level a face and a voice. Sneaky Spikes replays all of your deaths at once when you finish a page. Try Again and Level Once Again are the two that keep changing what the room does after you have learned it.
