Turkish draughts keeps the checkerboard and throws the diagonal away. Pieces move and capture straight ahead and sideways, never corner to corner, which sounds like a small change until you set up: sixteen men per side filling the second and third rows, a wall rather than a staggered line. Captures come in chains like ordinary checkers, but because they run along ranks and files, a man standing in open space is threatened from three directions instead of two. Play the computer, or sit two people at one board. Watching a finished game back is also offered.
