A dwarf kingdom run from the inside: you walk around it, and what you build decides who moves in. Mine Keeper has two halves that feed each other — above ground you plant and sell fruit, put up houses and hire farmers and soldiers; below ground you dig for stones and gems, and the mine has monsters in it, so going down alone is a mistake you make once. Money from the mine pays for the town, the town supplies the troops, and the troops make the next level of the mine survivable.
